Discription of LVLL Volunteer postions

Below is a list of Board Posistions and other key rolls with in Lynn Valley Little League.We are alway in need of more volunteers ontop of the listed postions for special events such as Opening Day, Photo and Bat-a-thon day, and other various events. PRESIDENT : 2 YEAR TERM

  • In Charge of the overall running of the League
  • Sets and chairs Board meetings
  • Attends D5 meetings
  • Liaison for North Vancouver District and Sports Council

PAST PRESIDENT: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Assists President to become familiar with above.

RALLYCAP DIRECTOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Coordinates all Rallycap Divisions
  • Sets up playing schedules
  • Sets up play off schedules
  • Organizes with Player Agent Team selection
  • Assists Player Development Officer set up Clinics
  • Acts as liaison for the Board between coaches and board

MINORS DIRECTOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Coordinates all Minor Divisions
  • Sets up playing schedules
  • Sets up play off schedules
  • Organizes with Player Agent Team selection
  • Assists Player Development Officer set up Clinics
  • Acts as liaison for the Board between coaches and board

MAJORS DIRECTOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Coordinates all Major teams
  • Attends Major Try-outs
  • Present at Draft and informs Registrar
  • Acts as liaison for the Board between coaches and board

JUNIORS AND ABOVE DIRECTOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Coordinates all Junior Senior and Bigs Team
  • Organizes with Player Agent Team selection
  • Assists Player Development Officer set up Clinics
  • Acts as liaison for the Board between coaches and board

TREASURER: 2 YEAR TERM

  • Handles all money
  • Financial reports monthly
  • Works with Bank to manage money
  • Board contact for:
    • Safety & Insurance Officer
    • Concession Coordinator & Purchaser

REGISTRAR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Handles and records all registrations and withdrawals
  • Works closely with Treasurer
  • Provides information to coaches for Try-outs and Evaluations
  • Provides information to Divisional Coordinators for team placements
  • Sets team rosters for D5 and various Tournaments
  • Provides Equipment Manager with numbers for uniform and equipment purchasing
  • Provides information to Baseball BC. For Gaming Money
  • Provides Coaches with rosters and coaches packages.
  • Answers League Voice mail and E-mail lines
  • Works with Secretary and Program Manager.
  • Sets up Photo Schedule with Sponsors
  • Computer skills a real asset

PLAYER AGENT: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Attends and runs Majors Try-outs
  • Attends the Draft and informs Registrar
  • Deals with any player/coach problems
  • Conflict resolution
  • Players advocate

UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Organizes Umpires for all Umpired games and Tournaments
  • Recruits and maintains Umpires
  • Maintains Umpire Schedule to pay them
  • Deals with any problems the Umpires may have
  • Be a reachable resource for them
  • Handle any complaints by coaches
  • Ensures that they attend Umpire School
  • Sets Umpire Clinics
  • Provides Umpires with yearly Rule books and necessary equipment
  • Pays Umpires
  • Works with Divisional Coordinators & League Coordinator
  • Board Contact for: Tournament Officer

EQUIPMENT MANAGER: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Inventories and maintains all League equipment and uniforms
  • Purchases all necessary equipment and uniforms
  • Hands out and collects all coaching bags.
  • Inspects and replaces damaged equipment
  • Hands out and collects Tournament bags and uniforms
  • Works with Treasurer & League Coordinator
  • Board Contact for: Field Officer, Tournament Officer

SPONSOR MANAGER: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Actively promotes the League to obtain Sponsors
  • Maintains and thanks Sponsors
  • Invites Sponsors to League Thank You Night
  • Informs Program Coordinator of Sponsors
  • Informs Registrar of Sponsors and their Team requests
  • Board Contact for: Bat-A-Thon Coordinator, Program Manager

 

SECRETARY: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Takes minutes at meetings
  • Distributes minutes to Executives and Officers
  • Handles Web Page
  • Computer Skills an asset

DIRECTOR - LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Collects and maintains all coaches forms and security checks
  • Informs coaches of educational sessions
  • Encourages coaches to take courses according to League Policy
  • Reimburse coaches for courses taken.
  • Distribute Rule books to all coaches at beginning of season.
  • Works with Umpire-in-Chief regarding Umpire education.
  • Maintains Library of educational books.
  • Collects and maintains information regarding camps, training facilities, & special events
  • Participate in coach selection at start of season and post season
  • Board Contact for : Player Development Officer

SAFETY & INSURANCE OFFICER: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Enforces League Safety Policies
  • Works with Equipment Manager to inspect and replace unsafe equipment
  • Ensure First Aid equipment is available and restock as required
  • Work with coaches to ensure their kits are acceptable
  • Writes a report of any serious injuries or unsafe incidents ( dog bites )
  • Works with coaches to ensure that safe practices are promoted
  • Board Contact: League Coordinator

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Will encourage volunteers at all levels
  • Work closely with the President to set up Calendar
  • Will oversee all volunteer activities
  • Work closely with the Registrar
  • Assist Special Events Coordinator
  • Assist Concession Coordinator
  • Assist Bat-A-Thon Coordinator
  • Board Contact: League Coordinator

 

CONCESSION COORDINATOR: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Works with Purchaser
  • Works with Volunteer and Special Events Coordinators
  • Encourages Concession Captains
  • Organizes Team Lunch events with Purchaser-Opening Day & Bat-A-Thon
  • Ensures deliveries
  • Oversees everyday running of Concession-provides floats
  • Issues and collects keys
  • Board Contact: Treasurer

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Works with:
    • President
    • Divisional Coordinators
    • Coaches
  • Books Gyms for Try-outs and Evaluations
  • Sets up Clinics
  • Invites Guest Coaches to provide Clinics
  • Informs League of where and when
  • Works with Umpire-in-Chief to set up clinics for Umpires
  • Obtains information for the League about camps, training facilities, special events
  • Encourages our Seniors to help out in Minors and Majors
  • Coordinates Adopt-A-Team Program
  • Board Contact: Director League Development

COMMUNICATION OFFICER: 1 YEAR TERM

  • Manage Email Distribution for the league
  • Distribute incoming emails to appropriate people
  • Computer skills a must
